A Brand New Day is the premier community for the elderly in Shasta County with mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s, dementia and/or physical frailties.

We are an assisted living facility authorized by the State of California to care for a maximum of 26 elderly men and women. It’s the perfect size because we are small enough to provide a home-like atmosphere, yet large enough to offer great amenities and high ratio of well-trained and dedicated staff.

We have operated under the name "Vista Hills" for the past 10 years. Our new name "A Brand New Day" reflects the advances we have made in maximizing the quality of life for our residents. A Brand New Day is locally owned by Dr. Arlen Burger and Mary Burger, who are actively involved in operations and readily accessible to the residents, their health professionals, family and friends. Executive Director Dave Besana, MA leads the organization to ensure quality care for all residents.

A Brand New Day has earned an outstanding reputation in our community. In addition, we have an exceptional record with regulatory authorities including Community Care Licensing and our local Ombudsman's Office.
