Our mission is to improve quality of life through the key principles of enrichment and engagement. Not only do we provide a home-like physical environment, but our approach goes several steps further than any care facility in the area.
Our approach to enrichment was developed and is supervised by Dr. Arlen Burger who develops programs, monitors progress and consistency. Our approach has a solid research foundation that is based on cognitive stimulation theory, reminiscence therapy and other state-of-the-art advances in eldercare. All of our caregivers are trained in the approach and are key to consistent delivery of the programs. We also train family members and volunteers on our approach to further ensure consistency.
Resident Enrichment Program
We understand that deciding on the right time and the right place for your family member to join an assisted living community is a sensitive and difficult one. Our Family Council provides both one-on-one and group support to help you through emotional challenges, logistical and financial concerns. We welcome family involvement. For those who are unable to join in our council and ongoing activities, we promise to keep you updated. Our residents become our second family and we attend to their needs with love in our hearts.
Transitions for the Elderly
When the level of care for your loved one exceeds your ability to provide it, A Brand New Day is there for you. The Transitions for the Elderly Program (TEP) is designed to help the senior become acclimated to our community. Customized to the individual, this 6 step process allows them to feel comfortable with the idea. It is a risk free program that does not involve a financial commitment to the family. TEP allows both the family and their loved one to experience the rhythms of life at A Brand New Day to help make the adjustment feel easy and natural.
Our process starts with a comprehensive assessment of the resident. Working closely with family members and other health care resources, we evaluate the total functioning of our resident. Based on this assessment and interaction we create their individualized that includes these four key elements: engagement, individualized, multi-dimensional framework, and meaningful daily rituals.
